I want to set up a home network among three macs: a powerbook G4 with OS X 10.3 and an airport express card, an iBook with OS X 10.1 with no PC card slot, but a USB port, and an older powerbook with 10.2 i think. Do you suggest i get allApple equipment, or use a third party company for the network cards in the two older computers and the router. Also, I have a 2.4Ghz digital phone that is relatively new. Will that cause problems? I get my neighbors network loud and clear on the Powerbook G4, but the phones are downstairs and I use the powerbook upstaris. The main use of the network will be downstairs. Thanks for all hardware suggestions. Also from reading on this forum , i get the idea that many routers are undependable. Is that really true, or is that just because people whose routers work dont have to get any questions answered and therefore don't post on the forum.
