i have an adsl modem connected to my powerbook(latest revision, 1.5gb ram) through the ethernet adapter via USB. my connection is painfully slow for what it should be. much faster than dial-up but nowhere near what it should be, especially for what i am paying per month.
my question is whether that slowness can be attributed to the modem/provider/house phone lines etc or something happening within the computer thats slowing the connection down?
any ideas?
also the connection after a few hours of use stops altogether, its like it times itself out and i physically have to pull the USB out and plug it back in to get it back online, again, any ideas as to whether this could be computer related or external to the computer?
thanks for any help you guys can give me.
