I'm going to be switching from DSL to Cable, and in doing so I'm gonna lose my static IP.
Since I run a server, I'm going to need a dynamic dns service, and I'm wondering which the folks here in the forum would recommend.
Now for the wrinkles:
- I'd like a service that is free (of both fees and ads)
- I'd like a service that allows me to use my own domain name
From the research I've done, I'm not sure any service will meet both of the above.
That being said, what would you folks recommend?
Thanks in advance.

I've used them for about 4 years, they're great. I think it's $20 a year to use your own domain, so that doesn't qualify under your free requirement, but $20 isn't bad for good service. I'm not sure if you'll find one that's totally free and lets you use your own domain. If you go with the free service you have a domain like mydomain.dyndns.org. They're also rock solid on uptime, I've never had a problem with them. Best of luck.

I host several of my domains' DNS with http://freedns.afraid.org/ . They're awesome.
