I have a safecom modem/router with ethernet port which i cannot seem to get working, it says its compatible with OS but does not mention OSX. I use OSX 10.3.4
The disc that came with it will not open up either, Ive connected it all up and tried every combination of settings in system pref i can think of. Does anybody know where i can get the installation software? The box says its a 2 port combo adsl modem router

Have you tried logging into the box through your browser? Its default IP is 10.0.0.2, but you also appear to need a username/password. Try "bt_test@startup_domain" as the username-the password is ignored when using this login name. At least that will let you know if it's working or not.

Look here for more neat tidbits on the Safecom router/modem, and this is the manufacturer's page on the box (I think-it's the only "ADSL Modem/Router" they show). Lots of good stuff here, including firmware, manuals, etc.

Yeah, using safari I put the IP address in and used my username and password, nothing happened, after waiting about 10 minutes I quit and tried it again but now it just says "server not found"
Thanks anyway

Ive now got my modem working i think, I had to reset everything and default all the settings then connect everything back into the modem etc.
When looking at 'network status' in sytem pref it says 'connected to the internet via ethernet' with a green light, but i try to use my browser and nothing, ive entered the correct username and password after typing the ip address with nothing but a long wait to nowhere!
Help!?!?!?

Ive figured it out why i couldnt get into the router settings page,
it was the Safari firewall
