hi everyone.....heres my background: basically, we've got all our media etc.. in our mac, but then also have our stereo/tv. i want to make them all work together wirelessly. i ordered an elgato "eyehome" box which turns my tv into an interface to navigate through playlists, movies, pictures, whatever, and sends the video to my tv and the audio to my stereo.

the PROBLEM is.... my mac is in one room, and my tv/stereo is in another. eyehome is not wireless, but they reccomend using airport express to make it wireless. i also ordered an airport express, but i think i may need two.

from my understanding, an airport express can act as EITHER a base station, OR a receiver. I would need one receiver/wireless bridge for the eyehome, but ALSO something to actually send the wireless signal from my mac.

Does this sound right? Is two airport expresses the answer, or do i need to buy the more expensive airport extreme base station to act as the transmitter?

HELP! ;-)

Does your mac have a wireless card inside already or do you have a wireless network setup in your house?

If you have either you will only need one airport express.. just set your airport express up to join the wireless network and you should be able to stream music to it and use the eye home once you set it up following elgato's directions..

well..

check in system preferences, network if airport is an option to use to join a network.. otherwise you should see a quater shape pie in your menu bar that represents your wifi strength..

How about asking in the Networking forum? You are asking about a networking subject, so it should go there. I'm moving this thread because you're new--WELCOME!--but in the future, pay better attention to where you post, ok?
