I am the currently the only mac user trying to connect wirelessly to a Windows based wireless enabled server (3COM wireless LAN access point 2000). The network name shows up in the Airport Icon drop down menu. I have the WEP 40/128-bit hex code but when I enter it I get the message; "There was an error joining the Airport network xxxx."
My Airport connection works fine everywhere else so what's wrong here?
My system: Powerbook G4 867 Ti 768 RAM Standard Airport card.
Is it a setting on my computer? Is it a setting on the server? So far the problem has beaten 2 MS support people here so any suggestions would be gratefully received.
I am desperate to get the mac to work with this system as another 2 people have said they will bring their powerbooks to use if we can find a way the wirelessly connect.
Help me stop the sneers from the PC people.

(Reason:Update))
AirPort defaults to accepting key inputs as ASCII text, not hexadecimal. Start the entry with a '$' (no quotes of course) to force the software to see your input as hex, and see if you connect now.
