Hi i didnt know if this belongs in networking or ibook, so sorry if its wrong

I use my new ibook at home and at school, and I have to totally change the wireless settings on my ibook before I can use it in each place. I have to change the IP address, subnet mask, router etc, so does anyone know of a way in which to use some sort of profiles so I can click on say, HOME, and it will put the settings onto my default settings for my home router, and SCHOOL for the default settings for school?

Any help is really aprreciated

I have a similar problem with my ibook. Any time I try to use it at school, where the wifi network is not broadcast, I have to completely reconfigure the airport to connect to it. I've entered the WEP and saved a specific profile and put it on my preferred networks list... it will NEVER automatically connect at school. It will at home where the network is broadcast.

You can create a new location profile by going to System Preferences/Network. Click the Location button and select New Location. After creating a new profile you need only select it when you are at that location.

Yes I keep having the same problem, first on my 17" G4 and now on a MacBook Pro. I fixed it once on the 17" by completely deleting all network preferences. And it worked fine for awhile on the MacBook, but now it's back again. It won't re-connect to a non-broadcast network. Very annoying.
