Hi, I use my new iBook at school, which is a totally windows environment, using novell servers. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as Novell for mac, as it would be great to access all the networked drives and my home directory on my laptop
Any help greatly appreciated

Wow that thing is expensive! I downloaded a free 30 day trial, and I will try that at school today. Im a bit confused as you can download the novell/netware client for windows xp for free. Anyone know of any other options for a mac accessing a novel netowkr?

I used to just click on the Network and could browse to my user folder on the Novell network without even logging into it. This was with Jaguar though. In fact, I could access everyone's user folders and I could see pretty much all the computers on the network. I told the network admin about the security concerns though. I haven't tried it in a long time though.

mind.

There is no "official" Novell Client for Mac(OS X anyway). ProSoft's solution does work from what I hear but it is indeed pricey.
There really aren't much more options than that. Your school can configure it for LDAP access and you can configure your Mac to then use this and there are a couple of different manuals floating around online in how to do this. Whether or not you're in a position of an accommodating school is another question I suppose. I wish you the best of luck.
