I'm having trouble getting connection to the internet using the Airport Extreme station. I just recently purchased the station (used on ebay) and I have all the documentation but I'm not sure which version or gen I have. I have a imac G5 (bought three weeks before the new ones were released) and when I make all the connections and run the set up utility, everything seems to work fine; full bars, recognized and everything but it will not connect to the internet nor can I print using the USB hub either. I first tried changing channels a few times in case it was my 2.4 Ghz phone causing the problem but that didn't help. I have done a soft reset and a hard reset with the same results both times. I am using DHCP so everything is configured automatically.

I also have an ibook G4 and it can recognize the connection to the network but it cannot access internet either. Can you help me figure out what the problem is?

Thanks!

What kind of broadband connection do you have, and how is the APX connected to the modem? It sounds like you may have a problem with the APX talking to the modem.

I'm using a cable modem connected to the APX. The middle light is staying on and the the right light that I believe indicates communication between the APX and the computer is active (flashing). I've had this cable modem now for a few years, do you think this could be the problem?

FYI to those who may have the same problem - I switched the cable modem, downgraded the software to 5.1 (I think that's what it was), unplugged and replugged the e-net cable in reverse and it started working. I performed those steps in that order and it didn't actually work until I replugged the e-net cable so I can't say for sure what the actual cure was. I'm just happy to have it working!!
