Hi

the neat feature of the AirPort Express Base-station is tempting, but not that tempting if you have a look at the price ($129).

Especially to be able to stream you music to any speakers that are hooked up to a station and that you can select the speakers in iTunes is very cool.

So here comes the question... Is it possible to have a server running on a Windows or Linux Machine that actually "simulates" a Airport Express station (in terms of hooked up speakers) so one can stream the Audio over its speakers ? There is no need to be Wireless or to play protect songs (for the moment )

The poor solution is of course that one installs iTunes on the "remote speaker machine" and play the shared playlist over there, but this is not that nice

cheers
