Hey There,

One thing that would save me from moving my iPod up and downstairs is if the bonjour worked. It worked back when it was called Rendezvous, but now it doesn't. My network is complicated to explain, but easy enough via this image:

If I'm able to share internet successfully this way, shouldn't the bonjour work as well? iTunes Sharing? Printer sharing as well? Is there a trick to this, or this a notoriously difficult thing to get working right? Running the latest software on both Macs.

????

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Make sure NAT is turned off on the AirPort Express (distribute addresses).

Hey-- THERE'S a new piece of advice. I'll give it a try and get back to you. Thanks!

Larkost: how does one turn NAT off? Is it in the Airport Admin Utility?

Yep. On the Network tab, uncheck the "Distribute Addresses" box. This effectively changes the box from a router to a bridge-which means that now it simply converts wired network traffic into wireless traffic and vice versa.

"Stunning" would be an overstatement, but yours is the first original post I can remember that I actually understood the network setup in from the begining. So how does "laudable" sound?

ghporter: thank you for the feedback on my Keynote graphic and the assist on where to turn of NAP.

but the praise here goes to LARKOST who did what bewildered MacFixit, AppleDiscussions, and AppleCare. Thank you, thank you, and-- by the way-- THANK YOU.
