My school, middle school, doesn't really have that many people bring in their own computers so it's not exactly "user friendly". There is internet everywhere me and my friend were trying to connnect with his PB and my iB but we couldn't get in to the internet, we could get to the wireless but there was no way to access the internet coming from them, and we tried directly from ethernet cords also. Usually on the schools (windows) computers you are prompted for your User Name and Password for the school, and then you are logged onto the computer and the desktop loads. There are also macs at our school and you log in with the same Username and password too, but when you go on your connected to the internet already (ethernet) and your "y-drive" (your own little space on the school server) is mounted on the desktop as a removable object. My question is, how do i do this???? what settings need to be changed so i can get internet and (if possible not a real priority) get my y-drive mounted on to my desktop?

My school has cable and I'm running 10.3.9 (so is my friend)

Your computer would need to be registered into the campus network, and for the drives and login part you would need to be joined to the ActiveDirectory system. If they don't have a program in place for this, then you are probably out of luck.
