I just switched from dial-up access to broadband (DHCP). Using my network with dial-up, I always saw the airport listed when I opened Airport Utility, however, with broadband it is not listed, and I cannot access it. Performance it perfect and seamless, my iBook automatically joins every time it starts/wakes.

How do I get Airport Utility to see my network?

Thanks,

Tom P.

How is your network physically arranged? Is your computer plugged directly into your broadband modem? (I'm assuming you're using cable-is that right?)

Nope, it's WISP. So, the antennae is on the roof, the cable runs to the same room as the airport, then plugs into a powered dongle (supplied by WISP) , then an ethernet cable from the dongle to the airport Ethernet port. This service uses DHCP and it was basically seamless connecting to it.

It's just that I cannot see my airport with Airport utility to administer it. My airport is listed in the drop down Airport menu icon though.

I don't know what the issue was, but it's solved. I hard-reset the Airport, unplugged it for a few minutes, then reconnected power and the network cable. It now appeared in the Airport Admin Utility as it's factory defaul ID, so I could then rename it and set security, parameters, etc.

Yah. This started happening to me about 2 Aiport updates ago. A hard reset is the only way to get it back.
