Hi,

Just got a new iBook, literally a few hours ago.

I'm trying to connect it to a wireless BT Hub which has a 26 digit password.
Ther instructions for the hub tell me to enter the WEP key but Airport system preferences only allow a wpa password.

Anyone know how I can change this or another way around this?

Thanks.

No they don't, you can enter a WEP password. Look at the AirPort section of Mac Help for more.

Well maybe but selectingmy hub from the airport drop-down menu brings up a requester which asks for a password. Next to "Wireless Security" is a requester with "WPA Personal" in it. Clicking this brings up no other option. This is where I would expect the option for WEP to be. It ain't there.

Look at the AirPort section of Mac Help for more.
-EDIT-

Solved by fiddling about/trial and error. You have to chose "other" rather than pick my own hub. Then in the NEXT requester select my own hub.
Bizarre but it seems to work now.

Cheers for the help anyway.

Oh, well yes. I didn't know if you were working with the Airport Menu extra or the Network Preferences. Since I have a hidden SSID I have to choose "Other..." anyway so it didn't occur to me.
