Hi everyone,
I helped my dad buy his first computer ever (an HP dv1530, I know, i know, I tried to convince him to buy an MBP but he didn't want to pay that much). I have taught him how to get onto my WAN and how to surf the web.
However, since the time he has started surfing the net, I've been getting problems with my WAN. My PB periodically drops my internet connection, even though it says that I have a full strength signal. My dad's HP also loses internet connection occasionally at the same time I lose mine. And the same time this happens, my desktop, which is hardwired to the wireless router shows a "LAN not connected" indicator at the bottom of the screen.
I've had lots of friend connect to my WAN over the years, and we routinely play Starcraft every month or so over the WAN so I don't think the router itself is dying yet. I had a friend who owned an HP dv1000 and when he connected to my network, it caused the same problems of occasionally causing everyone to lose connection.
Is there some sort of "channel" or interference setting that my dad's HP is putting into my network?
Thanks for any help you can give me!
