I recently set up a home network for my boss using a belkin pre n router and wirelss belkin pre n cards in all the compters. About 85% of the time it absloutly flew. I heard that it was called pre n cause there was no standard for it yet. is there any timeline for when pre n will become the new standard????

As far as I know there's no timeline yet. I hope your Belkin stuff works well for you, because there's no guarantee that the final standard will include the technology included in it. The Wi-Fi alliance says the standard may not be set until the first half of 2007.

March 10, 2006 Breaking News: 802.11n Draft 1.0 Approved

And from the article:

We expect that you’ll be able to see products on the store shelves certainly by the middle of this year implementing this 1.0 draft
So it is coming, and it looks like before 2007! I am stoked. I bought a pre-n router, and after having some difficulties with it, I set it up in AP mode, and it is working great. It has extended the range of my existing G devices, so I am happy. I have read, and not sure how true this is, but supposedly Belkin will provide a firmware upgrade to the final 802.11 spec, and if a firmware upgrade can't do it, they will replace the unit for free. Not sure where I read this, but I remember seeing it somewhere. Don't count on this though.
