we have 3 macs (10.4.6 mpb, 10.3.9 G5, 9.2.2 g3 imac!), some printers, etc...
hooked up thru an ethernet hub (from a cable modem, into a router).

we keep files on the G5, and everyone connects to that & moves files around.

the macbook pro just replaced a tibook, running os9.
everything worked fine on that machine.

now, on the mbp, whenever i go to shut it down (either after ejecting the G5 connection, or not),
it will not shut down; spins forever.

any ideas, anyone??
