I picked up a DLink DWL-122 wireless adaptor for my G4 466. It works great but since installing the software the computer doesn't recognize my printer (Brother Laser Printer). I've tried to uninstall the DLink software but the only method mentioned in the manual involves copying some code into Terminal and all that yeilds is "No command found". Ideally I can have the DLink and a printer, but if I can only have 1, it'll be the printer (and an overly expensive original Airport card).

The manual is dreadfull.

Also, to get the DLink to work I have to open System Preferences and manually connect. Is this normal? Is there a way to have it automatically connect when I power up? I generally shut down the computer when I'm done using it.

Many thanks, Steve

If you have to manually connect the adapter, you have a problem. And you should definitely delete that software; please provide some details on what D-Link says you're supposed to do to remove it, and someone will probably pop back and give you some help with it.

Within the Mac folder on the DLink disk the following opens in a Word document:

To uninstall DlinkUsdDriver, run the uninstall script from
shell window(Terminal)

Launch the terminal application from Applications-Utilities folder,
type the commands exactly as you see it below:

Restart your Mac, Wirelss icon will no loger appear in System Preferences.

When I start to type, Terminal immediately gives me the line "No command found" within the text I'm typing. Should I just continue typing and restart? Or is there a manual way to delete the drivers?

!'m using OS 10.4, by the way.

Thanks, Steve
