Bane of my life!
Mac manager and Os9 clients, all was working fine until we upgraded ther schools main servesr to MS Server 2003 and installed all new network (everything from cables to switches). Since then however whenever any of our users log into the macs it struggles to find thier document location, taking 15-20minutes before it finally does.
I can manually connect to the shares no problem and once the macs have "timed out" they work fine, users can access and save as normal but only after this 20minute wait.
The fact that I can manually connect to the shares makes me think it's not the 2003 servers, I've checked all the settings on them and can't see anything wrong. Same goes for Mac Manager, settings appear fine and the server can also map manually to the drives, folders and files rapidly.
Any ideas? It's stalling at "locating user document location" and then later on at "email preferences".
Seriously any ideas would be appreciated, I've run out of ideas! Locations for the folders are correct in mac manager, 2003 servers seem fine and I can't see anything wrong with the client configuration! The network seems to work fine as I can manually map to the drives quickly, the only thing I'm wondering if it's cached the server connections using appletalk which no longer works on the network. Stab in the dark though!
