Hi,

I just noticed that the Network Activity pane of the Activity Monitor is showing constant activity on our iBook connected to a DSL connection via an AirportExtreme Base station.

Basically it shows a constant stream of very low speed IN and OUT traffic of about 20 bytes/sec even when we are not actively using the connection.

Is this a normal part of Airport connection??

I'm not an expert, but I would think that something like the Dashboard would constantly be using network activity. For example, I have widgets that require access to the internet to update - such as baseball scores, weather, gas prices, etc. If I am not currently accessing a network, I would expect those widgets to constantly be accessing the network 'behind the scenes' to update their information.
