I use Azureus and to get it to run at high speeds i must open all the ports on my comp. To do this i set my comp. to DMZ mode through my router preferences. For the past few days if it is set in this mode i will lose my internet connection. I go to networking in the System Preferences and it says there is no IP address. If i go turn off the DMZ then it works fine again. My internet ran fine in this DMZ mode for about six months. Any suggestions???? thanks for the help.

DMZ through the router almost always requires that you give the computer a fixed IP address. I'll bet that's your problem. Give it a static IP, tell the router what the IP is, and it should all work fine.

How do i give it a static ip and tell the router what the ip is? Also, is there any reason why this would start now after it has been working for so long???? thanks for the help.
