I've set up a printer for sharing on my Windows XP machine, and have located that printer on my Mac. When I print a file, nothing happens. The Windows print monitor recognizes that a file from a networked computer is queued to print, but never actually prints the document. Any ideas?

What's the queue name on your Mac's printer setup. It probably should be "LPT1" for the Windows machine to work as a print server. YMMV, but I have a "Windows" print server/router that is transparent when adding it to a Windows box, but you MUST tell the Mac "LPT1" for the server to work with it.

How did you set up the printer on your Mac--IP printer or "Windows printing"? Also, what version of OS X are you running?

Thanks for all the help guys.

A problem that I didn't really pay much attention to initially is the absence of the appropriate driver on the Mac. I installed the printer drivers for use when the printer is directly connected via USB, but the drop-down menu for network printing does not have the exact model (HP 1350). I have been using the "Generic" setting.
