problems connecting xbox to computer directly

I'm witout router right now, so I'm trying to connect my original xbox to my computer directly so that I can ftp some stuff to it's hd.

Problem is, I have no idea what it's ip address is.

In the evoX dashboard, it's saying that the ip is 192.168.0.200.

When I enter that into my ftp client, it times out, as if that ip isn't even correct.

Am I missing something?

I guess I need a cat6 cable since I'm not going through my router. I'll just wait until I get a new router
