sharing out the public folder on a imac i am using for a networked file share. I set the folder so that everyone has access to read and write. When some one creates a file the permissons to the file do not allow others to read or write. Any suggestions?

found a shareware app called sharepoints. setup a folder outside the public area and set permissions. all working ok so far

Glad we could help.

Sharepoints seems to be the "go to" app for this sort of thing. Managing permissions is often a challenge in a small environment; going beyond a few users can get really sticky, so any help is good.

I have used sharepoints, it works well for smaller network environments.
