Hey, I'm having a bit of trouble accessing my music from my wireless Windows laptop.

I have a linux server sharing my music through Banshee, and I have an iMac also sharing, the iMac can access the music on the linux machine fine.

The laptop just wont pick up either of them, I think it has something to do with going through another router, I have:

iMac > Linksys router > Linux machine = Works

Laptop > Baffalo wireless router > Linksys router > Linux Machine / iMac doesn't work

both the iMac and Windows laptop have the latest version of iTunes

Any ideas how I can get it to work?

Thanks

Does the Buffalo wireless router have its DHCP server on? If it does, that's your problem.

The wireless system must be on the same subnet for a wireless computer to share with the wired computers-or connect to them at all. I'll bet that your Linksys router is providing DHCP addresses to the wired computers, but the Buffalo wireless router is providing addresses FROM A DIFFERENT SERIES to the wireless computer.

Somewhere in the Buffalo's configuration should be a way to turn off the DHCP server and make it act like a simple wireless access point. That's what you want. Since you don't say which model of Buffalo device you have, I can't point you to the exact place to make this configuration change. Instructions for this should be in your manual somewhere.

It did, I tried turning it off and restarting the baffalo router and it just gave me limited or no connectivity. the baffalo router is a Baffalo AirStation G54 (WYR-G54) and the linksys is a AG241
