I had posted before about my wireless woes, and could not figure out why I kept dropping my wireless connection. Now, I just installed XP pro today using bootcamp, and the wireless works perfectly on there. Whats the deal? Does OSX just not like my Dlink router, or what?

The deal is that there are aparently still some problems with the AirPort drivers for Intel Macs. Read this forum and you'll see plenty of discussion of these problems. Unfortunately, they're not universal, so it's hard to say "this is the problem" or even "this is the consise set of symptoms." Basically, Intel Macs sometimes have problems connecting via wireless.

Bummer. Kind of sad that windows uses the airport hardware better than OSX...

Hopefully it gets fixed sometime soon... otherwise XP might be getting more use.

AirPort hardware uses an established chipset that was well supported by Windows long before Apple went with Intel. The problem is that OS X isn't like Windows in a lot of ways, and building device drivers for it is not as simple as using the chip maker's "demonstration application" and just messing with the code a little.
