Hi Everyone,

I have a Apple Extreme Base Station acting as my router. Can I hook up my old netgear wireless G router to it so I have more ports to hook up multiple network drives and the new netgear, which will hook up to my mac mini in the living room so I can stream HD stuff?

If i can't use the router . . . am i suppose to get a switch?

Thanks!

You should be able to use the LAN side of the Netgear router as a switch, assuming you're looking at wired connections. Hook a cable from the LAN port of the AirPort Extreme base to one of the LAN ports on the Netgear box and the other LAN ports are available to connect wired computers (or network drives) to. This should be as fast (among wired devices) as 100BaseT ever is.
