I am continually having problems with downloads never starting. I have no idea why this is happening. Has anyone else seen this problem on their computer and if so what did you do to fix it? For instance, I just tried to download todos, a program mentioned on digg.com.

Your post is not really helpful. You need to give us more details.

1) What OS are you using?
2) What browser? (What version?)
3) Does this happen with any other browser you've tried?
4) If you have a home network, does this happen to your other computers as well?
5) You on dial-up or broadband?
6) DSL? or Cable?
7) If DSL, maybe there's some kind of interference (noise/static) on your phone line...
8) If you're behind a router, you might want to double check it's settings and make sure certain ports aren't blocked (i don't know which ones to un-block.... it's beyond my skill)
9) The same applies if you're behind either a software firewall (like the one built-in on WinXP SP2, or Norton Firewall), or a hardware firewall (usually built into your hardware router device)
10) Does this happen on all the download sites you visit? Or is it just that one site?

Hope that gives you some ideas.

Don't bully me, I got an Uzi... HOO-HAH!

Do you run a popup blocker? Those tend to stifle downloads really well. And DO tell us what you're doing, with what, and so on...you posted a riddle without any clues.
