I'm trying to set up a wireless system at home. I currently have two PCs that I want to run on the network as well as my new MacBook Pro. The PCs will be running directly into the router via ethernet (they're in the same room and they don't have wireless cards yet).
All I want to be able to do is access the internet anywhere in my house with the MBP. Will they be compatible?
Here's the router: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...VisitorWrapper

Yep, it'll work. I have two of those at home, and they work flawlessly with both an iBook G4 and a MBP.

Are you using the Airport card in the MBP or another pcmcia card? Either way it should work OK. Think the Airport card is limited to 802.11b connection speed though. Think the main problem I have with connecing wireless macs to my Linksys G router is that you need to be sure that you are using the right connection in the network prefference in System Preferences. If you have a modem, a Ethernet connection, and a wireless card, you should have 3 connections listed. Choose the one for the wireless card and set it up. Then you will need to go into the wireless connection software and set that up to access the connection, security, etc.

ANY standard-conforming WiFi device (in other words, any device bearing the WiFi seal and/or advertising compliance with IEEE standards 802.11B/G) WILL work with ANY AirPort card. Absolutely. And ALL of the notable U.S. manufacturers (and probably all such manufacturers elsewhere) DO comply with standards. Even on their non-compliant "speed doubler" or "pre-N" hardware, except for the nonstandard speed/pre features.
I've been a Linksys user for seven or eight years, and I'm very happy with my hardware. Note though that there are issues with some versions of the WRT54G; if you can avoid it, stay away from hardware version 5. I personally use a separate wired router (BEFSR41) and wireless access point (WAP54G) because it spreads out the functions so I don't have a single point of failure. But I'm a pessimist anyway...
