I have two macs at home. a powermac g5 which is on the internet via airport card and a powermac g4 which is cardless so it is hard wired into the airport extreme base station.

my bud gave me a spare airport express he no longer needs for his office and my question is, can i move my power mac g4 to the other side of my house and connect it directly to the airport express and get an internet signal? i see that the base unit only has a single port and i'm wondering if that is solely for a modem to be plugged into.

If you make the AX part of a WDS then yes, you can use it to extend the primary AEBS network to the G4 or whatever computer elsewhere in the house.
