After some advice here my GF wants to connect her G3 iMac to our wireless network at home and finding an old airport card is rather hard so what wireless USB dongles will work with OSX?
Avoid USB dongles-they tend to be slow and they are very hard to get running with a Mac because so few of them have OS X drivers. I'd go with an ethernet-type adapter. They're called "wireless bridges," and sometimes "game adapters." They're more expensive than USB dongles, but they WILL work-and they'll be much faster too.
