Hi,

I have a 400mhz Titanium Powerbook that I'm thinking of setting up wirelessly. I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router (not hooked up) that I could hook up to my G5 (airport extreme enabled), so I'm thinking it might be nice to have the Powerbook set up for wireless surfing so my wife/daughter can go online when I am too.

My question, I believe this powerbook has a "cardbus" slot (is that right?), is that the way to go? If so, anyone have recommendations for which wireless "cardbus" card to get? Obviously I'd like something you've all had good luck with and as few headaches as possible.

Thanks for your replies.

Tom

Cardbus is a "flavor" of PC card. There are tons of cardbus-wireless PC cards on the market. The trick is finding one with Mac OS drivers.

Your best bet is to find an original AirPort card, which will work natively with OS X, will fit your TiBook perfectly, and is (if the card is working) guaranteed to work. The only problem with that is that original AirPort cards are kind of scarce nowadays.

Here's a site that has lots of information for you and your particular problem. They list cards that work with PowerBooks (of various models-pay attention when you start shopping!), software to use, and lots of other good stuff.

Good luck.
