After spending days transferring files over wireless or 100, I had about 12 GB to transfer from my PowerBook to my PowerMac server. First time ever using gigabit, hot damn. What was taking hours, upon hours, was done in minutes. If only my old windows and linux boxes had gigabit, I would have had a lot less frustration. Another killer is the difference between transferring to my external usb from the PowerBook and the PowerMac. The PowerMac is only USB1 and that was like waiting for paint to peel. I wish my enclosure was firewire, it would have saved me a few gray hairs.
