I have a Cobalt Raq4 that I am trying to use. It begins the boot process and gets to the point of checking the disk. At that point it seems to get stuck! The menu says checking disk and nothing else is happening. It just sits there with no other apparent functions occurring. Does anybody know what is happening and how to get this box to boot properly?

I have to think that the problem you're having with this device (an ISP-grade server for those who don't want to do the search I just did) is beyond being a "networking" question. Does Sun's site not have any help for you?

I've already checked most of the known resources on this issue. However, I believe that I might have a bad disk drive. I tried booting from the drive and it didn't seem to work. When I boot from the ROM it seemed to boot properly but could not get past the disk check. When booting from the ROM it seems to access the disk so I don't believe the I have a bad disk controller. Now all I need to do is buy a new disk drive.

That still sounds like a hardware problem to me, and not a networking issue. If you get it to boot and still can't connect, this is the place for you to ask, but I don't think you'll get a lot of help about this issue here.
