I was looking to get a cantenna for my laptop, but I have no ports to install it in. The cantenna website said I can get a PC card that would work as an external antenna port. If I did that, where woudl the card go into my PB G4 and can I install it myself?

Hi,

The 15 and 17 inch G4 PowerBooks have PCMCIA slots that can accept wireless cards, some of which have external antenna ports that you can plug into. One issue though is that there are not many available with OS X drivers.

Another solution is to unplug the antenna from your internal airport extreme card and attach the cantenna using the proper connector.
