I am getting the following error in system.log Happens fairly often, doesn't seem to effect usability as it is just a file server.... Any ideas how to fix this, man for changeip didn't show much

Looks like reverse DNS lookup is not set for your IP. Just in case it helps:

Mac OS X Server 10.4.6: Changes in server hostname discovery
Mac OS X Server 10.4.6 or later: changeip now requires fully qualified domain names

I had this problem too. It seemed even worse since my Mac OS X Server did not startup into a graphical user interface. The command line was all I got. I booted From the Mac OS X Server DVD and repaired the Disk Permissions and the problem was gone.
