Hi all
I used to be able to see (and mount) each machine from the other.
I use sharepoints (but don't really understand it!)
Both machines can connect to the internet successfully (PB via Airport)
I've recently had to change my router so could this be an issue?
Do I need Sharepoints to do this? I've been lead to believe that Tiger
is not good at connecting two machines.
Also used to print from PB to printer connected to imac (Printer sharing is is still enabled in sharing pane of sys prefs))
Can anybody help?
Thanks
HUGH

Are both computers on the same IP segment? In other words, go to each computer and pull up Networking in System Prefs. Check the IP address on each, they both should have all the numbers the same except for the last set of digits (after the last decimal place). Example, 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.200 are IP's in the same range and should work. However, if one looks like this 192.168.1.100 and the other is 192.168.0.200 then they are not in the same range and won't see each other.

Thanks SWFan, I'll try that, but the PB connects vis Airport Express and so has an IP of 10.x.x.x, so I don't know how to make them on the same segment?

You need to turn off the DHCP service in the Airport base station. You do this by running the Airport Administration software from your PB, Applications-->Utilities-->AirPort Admin Utility
This is assuming your Airport base station is connected to your wired router that is serving your other computers. With DHCP turned off the Airport base station becomes a WAP and simply bridges wireless connections to your wired network. All the wireless devices will then be getting their IP addresses from the wired router instead of from the Airport base station.
