I've been trying to network this printer for the last two days, someone please help! That said I'm a begginer when it comes to networks.

My setup is as follows:
cable to ps-1206U USB --> HP Photosmart P1000
^
|
|
cable modem --> Lynksis Etherfast router -->Airport base station-->wireless connection to two roaming laptops
|
|
V
cable to main desktop G4
When I set everything up it was all pretty much plug and play. I didn't pay much attention to manuals or anything like that. Eventually bringing my laptops over to the main computer, and plugging them in to the printer became frustrating so I decided to do something about it. In order to have the printer always on line I went out and bought a little EternetCable-->USB 2.0 print server from CompUSA (PS-1206U) and plugged my printer into the router. Unfortunately my carefree life ended there.

For the last two dayts (off and on) I have been trying to set this bugger up and have failed miserably. I tried to set the printer up via IP in my Print&Fax system preferences menu using various IP addressed and the que name 'Lpt1'. Each time the computer fails to connect to the printer. I think I may need the specific IP address of the printer.

If anyone has any hints they would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody know anything about this issue? I just got an e-mail from HP stating that this printer is only supported for direct connection (i.e. USB to computer). Is this possible?
