I moved from PM G5 to a Mac Pro this week. I used Apple's migration, which I see from other posts may not have been the best thing. On both machines I have used an Airport connection which wires into a Linksys router and cable modem. Mac Pro only gets 200 kbps down and up while G5 still gets 3000/500 up down. Even my crappy compaq laptop gets 3000/500 wireless.

I changed my connection to a wire and it get me normal up/down speed. Any suggestions on how to tell if I have a bad AP card or if one of my settings is wrong?

Thinking of reinstalling fresh OS and apps and movng data back over with external drive. thanks.

This has probably nothing to do with using Migration Assistant. Moving to Networking …

It's almost certainly nothing to do with your use of the Migration Assistant. It's more likely that you need to tweak your AirPort settings to take better advantage of your network setup.

Post what your settings are-both for the G5 and for the Mac Pro, and both for wired and wireless, and maybe we can point you in the right direction.
