I just bought an iMAC which uses OS 10.4.7. I also own a G3 running 9.2.2 which does not have a CD burner and uses SCSI to connect perpherals (scanner, hard disks). How can I transfer file to the new iMAC? I tried connecting with an ethernet cable but did not know how to set addresses, etc. so this didn't work. I would use an .mac account but the G3 doesn't meet the specs for ,mac. I have transferred a few files via email but this would take forever. Any ideas? Thanks.

Ethernet is the way to go. The easiest method would be to buy a cheap router. The router will auto-assign IP addresses to the two computers then you'll simply turn on file sharing on one of the computers and connect.
