Hi everyone-

I have a Toshiba PCX1100 cable modem and an Airport Express that I just bought. The modem works fine if I run an ethernet cable directly to my PowerBook from it, but I get nothing but that HORRIBLE flashing amber light on the Airport Express if I try to setup a wireless network.

I've tried the hard reset, both plugged and unplugged, restarting/unplugging the modem, and restarting my computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

You may have to ask the cable company to reset the modem. Cable providers have a nasty habit of locking the modem into one MAC address. Sounds like your cable modem is locked into the MAC address of your Powerbook.

I thought everyone ran a router with a high speed connection these days! it's scary to see someone connected straight to the modem...

Did it help, to have the cable company reset your modem?

I'm having the same problems - my powerbook & the GF's iBook will connect without problems, but my new Airport Express wont!
