To anyone who can help:

This is what i've done so far:

1) When I connect my LinkStation directly to the Extreme Base Station, everything works fine and transfers nicely.

2) When I connect my LinkStation to a Linksys 4 port Switch which connects to the Extreme Base Station, I can't transfer, download, upload anything to the LinkStation.

I don't know if the switch has any problems since the rest of the devices seem to work fine (internet & slingbox). I have no clue what kind of questions I should be asking right now, so if anyone can help me develop this thread, I would greatly appreciate it.

Are you sure the Switch is a switch, or is it a Linksys Router? A model number would tell us.

My suspicion is that your switch is actually a router, the stuff connecting to the AEBS are probably getting IP's in the 10.x.x.x range and the stuff connected to the router (what you're calling a switch) are getting IP addresses in the range of 192.x.x.x thus why nothing can see each other because those are now two distinct network segments.

If the switch is indeed just a simple switch then that blows my theory out of the water.

I've only seen Linksys FIVE and eight port switches. All their 4 port devices that I've seen are indeed routers-which means you CANNOT use all 4 ports without using the WAN port as an uplink, and THAT is a real problem.

Post the model number of your "switch" and maybe we can help out.

I'm betting that the fifth port is really a WAN port; if you connect the cable to the AEBS to one of the OTHER ports, I'll bet the LinkStation will work.
