I got lost trying to read your question. Sentences help, you know?
Anyway, from what I gather, you have a USB modem connected to an AirPort Extreme base station and you're wondering why you're not dialing in? That's because that USB port isn't set up to provide you with a modem connection. Doesn't the AirPort Extreme base have its OWN modem?

Ok, here's the deal: Read THIS. It's the setup guide and manual for the AirPort Extreme base station.
Unless it's an OLD one, your base station DOES include a modem and an external antenna port as well.
Once you set up the base station completely, you can just unplug your USB modem; you won't need it because you can let the base station connect through its own modem.
Let me know if this helps.
And I'm sure Sherman was as confused as I was by your post-it's hard to help someone who doesn't pose a question that is understandable.
