G'day all
I am new to Mac and I have just purchased a new iMac 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 20" with TV mini Miglia adaptor. Fantastic!

This may be useful for some of you as I have had a problem with my old SpeedTouch 300 ADSL USB modem.
The updated software drivers from Thomson for OSX 10.4 install fine but the Mac does not see or recognise that anything has been plugged into the USB ports on the Mac.

I have seen a couple of posts on general sites that the ST300 and ST330 are not compatible so I am going to invest in a wireless ethernet router/modem.
Linksys Wirless-G Broadband Router WRT54GL is the one I have in mnd.

Can anyone advise if this is a good choice or not.
Thanks & happy Mac-ing.

Let's move this to the Networking forum...

FWIW, I dispise USB anything involving networking; the USB interface tends to be a bottleneck no matter how fast it's supposed to be, and they're built NOT to let you share your connection.

I'd go with a newer, ETHERNET modem on general principles, and because you get a lot more choices with ethernet.

I agree, I see no reason why you'd put up with a USB modem. Call your ISP and get a proper modem with Ethernet.
