So I got a new 17" Intel iMac and an Airport Express. I have a wired network at home for the internet and all I bought the Airport Express for is to stream music from iTunes to my stereo. When I use the Airport Setup Assistant, it sees the new Airport Express, lets me name it, etc, and seemingly everything goes well until the end when the dialogue box comes up that says "Waiting for Airport Express to restart." I wait and wait and watch the blue bar progress about two-thirds of the way across and then I get a message that says there was an error communicating with the Airport Express. I'm at a loss. I reset the Airport Express a couple times and did the whole thing over only to have the same error happen at the end.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW I updated everything on the new computer through Software Update before I tried installing the Airport Express.

hate to be the voice of doom , but i'd get my money back if i was you

i have had a very similar experience

in my view , it just DOESN'T work !!!

invest in some long phono leads and put them under the carpet

better sound and at least it will work

It's probably working just fine. Mine did that during setup, but when it booted up (solid green light), it streamed music just fine.
