I've got an old Titanium Powerbook (400 mhz) running OS X that should make a good music server connected to my stereo. I'd like to add a wireless card so I can pick up Internet radio stations on iTunes (I've got a Netgear wireless router). This machine supposedly takes Type I and II PC Cards, but what's my best option? I assume a third-party card off eBay would be hard to beat, but can I use a faster "G" or do I need "B"? I've read so much about some not being recognized I thought I'd ask for help, so help, please!

I use a Buffalo 'g' card with mine, and also have a Belkin F5D7010 which works fine with my Lombard. Both use the Apple drivers so you don't have to install anything.

OWC has the Buffalo card which they say will work without drivers with OS X 10.3 or later.

The internal card in my old Ti-400 had absolutely abysmal range: about 20 feet. The antenna design is totally junk. So, don't get an internal card off eBay or anywhere else.

I used 2 cards in my Ti-400 and the difference was night and day, rivaling the range of an iBook. The Aironet 350 was 11b and you'd have a hard time finding the drivers nowadays, but the Buffalo card mentioned above ($25 from Target.com a few years ago, model number was as above but ended in an "A") used the Apple drivers natively (after 10.3.4 or so.) The OWC price is the same as what I've seen quoted at circuitcity.com.

Any card that uses the Broadcom chipset is supported natively. Problem is that the brands switch between chipsets without notice.
