I'm running a Samba/AFP server and would like to limit it to only students on my university network. So I would want to limit them to *.student.university.edu

Is there a way to do this in the samba and afp config files or would I be better off editing the ipfw file instead?

The 'hosts allow' parameter allows you to specify which hosts can connect. You can specify IP ranges, or specific hosts. I don't think it allows wildcard domains.

ok would anyone mind helping me with this? I want to exclude all addresses except *.students.university.edu to accessing my samba and afp services.
