I did some searching and found portforward.com. Followed the directions there, but I'm still getting a NAT problem.
I'm using:
OSX 10.4.8
Azureus 2.5.0.0
2Wire 1701HG
My poor little smiley doesn't look that happy. I'm up/down loading ok, but seem to be stuck on a yellow instead of a green.
Any suggestions?
I've done port forwarding and created a static ip. What the hell am I missing? Does it have something to do with SBC DSL?
This is driving me crazy. I'm betting I looked over a small detail, but I've run through this several times now.

To put the icing on the cake, after changing my DNS and IP, I can no longer access my router.

What you probably want is not port forwarding but putting the computer in a DMZ for the period you're using Azureus. The DMZ exposes the selected IP to the Internet without any interference-it just passes the traffic.
To my knowledge, SBC/AT&T Yahoo DSL has only one port issue-outgoing email other than through an SBC/AT&T server is port 25 blocked, so the plebes are forced to put up with their servers only (though we who know better can find alternate ports for our email). Other than that, SBC's been good to me.
Without Azureus running, hit SBC's speed test site and see what sort of speeds you get, particularly compared to what your plan is supposed to provide. It's possible that the nice little 2Wire box SBC gave you ain't properly set up for DSL, and it needs a tweak (most likely having its MTU set down to 1492 instead of 1500). Anyway, post what you get and we'll see how it compares.

Here's what I've got. I'm on the DSL Pro package, so everything seems ok.

What's the risk of running DMZ?

You're not behind the router's firewall anymore.

Does OSX have a built in firewall that I should disable?

Configuring the firewall is pretty simple-check Mac Help for details, but you'll find the settings under the Sharing Preferences pane. As you'll see, you change firewall settings by function, not specific port (generally).

I ended up disabling the OSX firewall and my problem was solved. I still have my hardware in place though.
