Hi, I have an old ibook with the original 802.11b airport

im trying to connect to an airpoprt express with software v 6.3

it says cannot join the network

it only got fixed after i change the setting to WEP

but WEP is not secure

im pretty sure my ibook is capable of WPA1 and connected perfectly with an older airport express

why does it not connect ?

Is the AirPort card in the old iBook updated with the latest firmware? It should be able to handle WPA with that.

the firmware is 9.52
the latest airport software is installed
