Hi All.

I have an older PPC mac mini without an airport card. I am Looking to put it on a wireless network, and am wondering about my options for an external wireless peripheral...

I know that you can get USB wireless adapters - but am wondering whether this will hinder the speed of my wireless connection when downloading from the net?

That leaves some sort of firewire/ethernet wireless router, but I'm wondering whether that Might be a bit overkill - and more expensive.

Any thoughts?

Using the USB interface for wireless netowrking should have no appreciable impact on the performace wirelessly. Just buy any Mac-compatible adapter and you are good to go. 802.11g is capable of maxing out alot of internet connections anyway.

The biggest problem you'll run into is finding a USB adapter that has Mac drivers. Other than that, USB may not be a major problem-considering your Mini has USB 2.0 it shouldn't have any problems.
